Kjell’s Story
“We got the devastating diagnosis: Glioblastoma grade 4 - they told us we would only have a few more months with our beautiful son.”

“On 1st November 2021 our wonderful son Kjell was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma.
In October 2021 we were on a family vacation in Malaga, Kjell and his brother Mika spent many happy hours in the pool there. A day after returning, he suddenly felt very ill and was taken to hospital.
A few days of fear and worry followed. Then we got the devastating diagnosis: Glioblastoma grade 4 - they told us we would only have a few more months with our beautiful son.
Kjell underwent two surgeries in November and most of the tumour was removed. Radiation and chemotherapy followed after a recovery period during which he was so brave.
Unfortunately, as we know, Glioblastoma tumours always grow back, he once again became very ill and underwent two more heartbreaking surgeries.
Kjell went for various different novel treatments, we desperately wanted to try everything we could to save him. Despite all our efforts, we had to let our beloved, football mad boy go forever on 16th September 2022 at the age of 9.
Kjell always had a smile on his face and such a lovely way about him, he is so missed. He had us all under his spell - without him it is awfully quiet at home. We miss him so badly and it’s so sad seeing his brother Mika growing up without him.”
