Safeguarding Policy

Statement

We are committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk. We will prevent abuse, take concerns seriously, and respond appropriately.

Scope

Applies to trustees, staff, volunteers, contractors and anyone representing the charity.

Responsibilities

Trustees oversee safeguarding; a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Joanne Caffrey manages day-to-day concerns; all personnel must complete training and follow procedures.

Recognising and reporting

Concerns must be reported immediately to the DSL via info@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk. If a person is at immediate risk, call 999. We will record concerns securely and share with authorities (police, local authority) where required.

Safer recruitment

We use role-appropriate checks (references, DBS where eligible), induction and supervision.

Training

Induction and regular refresher training proportionate to roles and risks.

Information sharing

We share information lawfully and proportionately in line with UK GDPR and safeguarding guidance.

Review

Policy reviewed annually or after any incident.
