Frequently Asked Questions
What You Need to Know About Donating to TJF
We’re incredibly grateful for every gift we receive. As a charity that relies entirely on voluntary donations, we want to make supporting the Tessa Jowell Foundation as straightforward as possible. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for below, please feel free to email us at fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk
What’s the easiest way to donate?
The quickest way to make a gift is through our JustGiving page, which also includes a simple Gift Aid option if you're eligible. Please note that Just Giving may add a contribution to their running costs- this is voluntary and can be removed from your donation.
How do I donate via bank transfer?
If you’d prefer to donate via bank transfer, please email us at fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk and we’ll provide the details you need.
Can I send my donation by cheque?
Because cheques can be difficult for us to process, we kindly encourage supporters to give via bank transfer or JustGiving whenever possible.
If sending a cheque is the only option for you, please contact our finance team at finance@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk, and we’ll help make sure your donation is received safely.
How do I make a donation as a gift?
If you’d like to make a donation on behalf of a friend or loved one, simply choose any of the donation methods above. Then email us at fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk with the name the gift should be made in, along with your donation details. We’ll track your gift and ensure an appropriate thank-you is sent.
Can I make a regular donation?
Yes, and regular donations really help us plan for our future.
You can give regularly via Just Giving (follow this link above and select regular donation) or else contact us at fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk and we can provide our bank details for a standing order, which can be cancelled at any time.
How can I change how the Foundation contacts me?
We love keeping our supporters updated on the impact of their generosity and the progress being made to improve brain cancer care in the UK. You may receive emails from us sharing updates and opportunities to get involved.
If you’d like to change your communication preferences, just email fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk and we’ll take care of it.
How do I know my donation is being used responsibly?
We take ethical fundraising very seriously and conduct due diligence on all our delivery partners. Each year, we’ll publish an annual report outlining how funds are raised and spent.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the tax you’ve already paid on your donation—at no extra cost to you. This means every £1 you give could be worth an additional 25p to the Tessa Jowell Foundation.
You can learn more about Gift Aid and complete a Gift Aid form here.
Do you have a fundraising query, feedback, or a complaint?
We welcome your questions and feedback. Please email fundraising@tessajowellfoundation.org.uk , and we’ll do our best to respond within 48 hours.
Thank you for your support!
